\"The Visigoths have always been a bit of an odd culture left over from the Charlemagne DLC in CK2, which made the depiction of ninth-century Iberia very inaccurate, but added some fun twist to the region,\" he explains.
According to him, the cultures in Crusader Kings 2 were originally \"mostly cosmetic,\" and since they didn't affect gameplay in any way, it was possible to \"fudge\" history a bit and keep the Visigoth culture well past its historical dates, mainly because it \"added a fun flavor to the region.
\"However, with The Fate of Iberia, that won't work.
Although the Visigothic kingdoms covered all of Spain for hundreds of years, they were wiped out during the Umayyad conquest of Iberia in 711-718.
