Developer says Assassin's Creed series has changed course because of the Schreier leak

Former Ubisoft game designer Stanislav Kostyuk said that the leak on Assassin's Creed Syndicate, for which famous journalist Jason Schreier was responsible, has greatly affected the development of the series.
In his Twitter account (the messages are currently deleted), Kostyuk said that the leak caused a negative reaction from fans who remembered the failed release of Assassin's Creed Unity.
As a result, the bad reviews led to a strong demoralization of the development team and further changed the course of the series.Kostyuk blamed Schreier for the incident, noting that the journalist wanted fame and clicks.
At the same time, Kostyuk himself did not work on Assassin's Creed, and he got all the information from his colleagues.Schreyer spoke in his defense, saying that the leaks caused a mostly positive reaction from players.
In addition, Assassin's Creed leaks have been happening since 2012, so based on Kostyuk's logic, the series should have changed every year.
\"Insiders and journalists easily become scapegoats responsible for industry problems, but I say honestly that Kotaku is not responsible for Assassin's Creed becoming an RPG series.
What's next, I get blamed for delaying No Man's Sky? \"Jason SchrierAlso Schrier recalled that Assassin's Creed Origins started right after Black Flag, and the writers wanted to do something new for the fans.
He noted that in order to do that, the developers would have had to be in the future to find out about the leak.Recall that there is a heated discussion about leaks and their negative impact on video games in the industry right now.
The reason was the recent leak of an early version of Grand Theft Auto VI.

Bethesda is rumored to be handling Prey 2

Among the many games developed by Arkane Studios, the Prey universe holds a special place in the memory of many gamers who were captivated by the disturbing atmosphere of Talos I.Released five years ago, in spring 2017, the game gave new life to the IP that originally debuted in the Xbox 360 era.
After the reboot, however, the intellectual property seems to have returned - at least apparently - to a dormant state.
However, with the release of Redfall in the summer of 2022, an intriguing indiscretion appears online. To revive the hopes of Arkane Studios fans of the game, famed insider \"Timur222\" has repeatedly advanced rumors that have subsequently proven to be valid.
As you can see from the tweets, the user claims to have received information regarding \"a Prey 2 build circulating at Bethesda Studios.\" However, this prototype, the insider continues, will have no direct connection to the original Prey 2 being developed at Human Head Studios.
He concludes that the builds made by the development company would actually have been rejected for \"legal reasons.
\"There were already rumors late last year about a possible Prey 2 announcement at The Game Awards 2021, which later turned out to be unfounded.

Dead or Alive 7 was in development, but has already been canceled

No confirmation from Koei Tecmo yet, but apparently the Japanese company has canceled Dead or Alive 7, a game being developed by Team Ninja's internal division.
In fact, the situation is not too clear; a Team Ninja member posted a series of tweets on the subject and then made the profile private, apparently realizing that he had said too much, perhaps sharing confidential information, or perhaps because the details in question are incorrect.
A small Team Ninja team had reportedly been working on Dead or Alive 7 for a long time, but it appears that the project has been canceled. The Dead or Alive series has struggled to establish itself in the face of stiff competition in recent years, with Street Fighter and Tekken continuing to gain players, while the Koei Tecmo series, in particular Dead or Alive 6, has not been as successful as expected.

The new Mafia is being developed by Hangar 13 on the Unreal Engine 5

2K Games and Hangar 13 haven't announced the development of the new Mafia yet, but Kotaku assures that work on the new game in the series has already started.
The recent announcement of the departure of the Hangar 13 founder was not accompanied by information about the new Mafia, it was just said that 2K Games trusts the new management to work on various unfinished projects. But Kotaku says that the departure of Hayden Blackman, who is leaving the video game industry to pursue new goals, comes at a time when development on the new Mafia has already begun.
Kotaku says its sources said Hayden is leaving when the new Mafia is in its early stages, but did not share details on what to expect from the project.
The plan is to develop on the Unreal Engine 5 instead of the Mafia III engine, which has recently been used for remasters.
The game is expected to be a prequel to the original Mafia trilogy.Hangar 13 consists of 3 teams, and the leadership has been given to Nick Baines, who has led the team so far in Brighton.
Baines is a veteran with over 30 years of experience in the industry, and he has notable projects on his resume.
He was one of the main heads of development on the Mafia trilogy and the remake of the first game in the series.

Ewan McGregor may have hinted that there will be a cameo from Jedi: Fallen Order in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series

Star Wars fans believe that Ewan McGregor may be hinting at a cameo from Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series.
When it was revealed that Obi-Wan Kenobi would feature Inquisitors and the action would take place while Darth Vader was active, the first thought of many Star Wars fans was that this could lead to characters from Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order since both are set in the same time period.
Combined with actors who could easily portray their live-action iterations along with the game versions, this seems like an obvious conclusion. This theory has gained even more supporters thanks to a recent comment Ewan McGregor made during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
McGregor talked about Obi-Wan Kenobi's director, Deborah Chow, and all the work she has to do to keep the \"Star Wars\" sequence on different mediums. Now \"Star Wars\" has become...
it's movies, TV shows, computer games, novels, cartoons, comic books, and all the storylines have to coincide.
You can't have some fact in a video game that doesn't match a fact in a movie.
She was terrific at figuring it all out and guiding all the writers. While it's certainly true that keeping the Star Wars sequence on multiple mediums is a challenge, the specific mention of \"some fact from a video game\" makes fans think that McGregor may have blabbed about some material or characters from the games appearing in Obi-Wan Kenobi.
On its own, this probably wouldn't have caused too much speculation, but we already know that there are several different elements from Jedi: Fallen Order that will appear in Obi-Wan Kenobi.
As ResetEra user The_Iceman2288 pointed out, we know that Inquisitors will play a key role in the series, and we've already seen Stormhunters, a key enemy in Jedi: Fallen Order, in the trailer.
When you combine these elements with the fact that Cal Questis definitely exists at this time, as well as McGregor's comment about getting the facts of the games right, the idea that some of the game's heroes might appear in Obi-Wan Kenobi becomes more plausible.
