Wildfrost's deck-building RPG will be released in late 2022

Wildfrost is a new deck-building RPG based on the megahit indie game Slay the Spire, and it looks like a deceptively cute approach to endlessly replayable card battles.Wildfrost was introduced as part of today's big Nintenedo Indie exhibition.
Like Slay the Spire, the game seeks to combine the randomness and replayability of roguelikes with a deck-building strategy.
You play as one of several characters, each with unique characteristics and skills, in an effort to save the town of Snowdwell from the eternal winter threatened by Wildfrost.
You'll have to assemble a deck of allies from random loot and merchants and lead them into turn-based battles as you explore a branching map dotted with various encounters. The Wildfrost cards shown so far will seem familiar to fans of modern card games and battlers.
Minions have attack and health stats, as well as passive and active effects, and you can arrange them on a 3x2 board to line up your front lines, reserves, and back rows.
Unique keywords such as Frontline Smackback, Backline Bombard, Consume, Barrage, Aimless and many more add another level of planning when building your deck and board.Wildfrost is a collaboration between Will Lewis of Caveblazers, developer Deadpan Games, and developer Gaziter, lead artist and designer of Forager and KnotBot.
Stardew Valley publisher and Witchbrook developer Chucklefish is backing the project and says that work on it began in early 2020 after Lewis and Gaziter worked on several prototypes.Wildfrost will release on PC and Switch this winter (which is fitting).

The atmospheric platformer Eyes in the Dark has been announced

The atmospheric platformer Eyes in the Dark has been announced

The atmospheric platformer Eyes in the Dark has been announced

Earlier today at PAX East, Gearbox announced a brand new atmospheric platformer called Eyes in the Dark.
The black and white visuals are very similar to older games like Closure and Inside.
However compared to these relatively gloomy and moody games the art is more detailed and playful. The trailer of Eyes in the Dark shows the gameplay in which a young character fights enemies with a flashlight.
It seems that the light emitted by the flashlight is the main way to deal damage to monsters. The flashlight seems to have other uses besides damaging enemies.
The hero of the game explores the dark corners of the mansion, which light up as soon as the flashlight comes in contact with the dark areas, almost like the mechanics of fog of war.And your little flashlight can even be upgraded at certain points in the game.
In the trailer, we see the player check out the \"Globe Bulb\" upgrade, which allows you to shoot balls of light that explode into smaller balls of light.
Then we see the hero shooting balls of light at enemies that look like jellyfish.Apparently, the game will also have some sort of mechanic whereby the mansion you explore in this game will be constantly changing.
However, it is currently unclear if this will mean that the game will have the properties of a Rogalike, or if certain actions you take in the mansion will change the overall world layout. Finally, we also got a tiny bit of information about the story.
A splash screen appears at the end of the trailer with the text \"save your family,\" indicating the reason why the character is exploring the dark mansion in the first place.Eyes in the Dark comes out July 14 exclusively on PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store.
You can pre-order the game now, and if you do, you'll get the game's free soundtrack at launch.

Cinematic trailer for the next major expansion Dragonflight for World of Warcraft

After numerous leaks recently, Blizzard has officially announced that the next major expansion for World of Warcraft will be called Dragonflight.
The expansion will be released on an unannounced date, it was revealed during a live broadcast of the World of Warcraft event where we saw a new cinematic trailer, you can watch it below, and also learned some details about what will be featured in the expansion.According to the press release, the expansion will feature the first-ever combination of race and class in WoW - Drakhir Evoker, a character type that can be specialized for both aggressive attack-style play, and more supportive behavior as target Those who play as Dracthyr Evoker will also have the opportunity to create their own draconic avatars, which they can embody in combat.
This character type will also start at level 58, which means that they will be quite capable of handling the new content. As for the dragon riding mechanic, which essentially gave this expansion its name, it will be available to all players and will be offered as a new dynamic form of flight using a dragon companion whose appearance can be changed.
We're also told that this expansion will include an \"extensive\" update to the talent and profession system, which aims to give players \"new levels of freedom and depth in defining their characters.
\"Dragonflight will also feature an improved user interface that will focus on the \"look and feel\" of the mini map and other elements, and provide options for customizing the user interface to players' liking.Players have long wanted to return to the high-fantasy roots of World of Warcraft, and in Dragonflight they will find just that: more We're also completely overhauling many of the game's core systems to ensure that WoW continues to offer the type of experience players have come to expect, not just in this expansion, but for years to come. There's no word yet on a release date or timeline for Dragonflight, but Blizzard said it will provide more details about future release plans and public testing milestones.

World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Classic will be released this year

World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Classic will be released this year

World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Classic will be released this year

After months of speculation, it's now official - World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Classic will be released later this year.Blizzard announced the re-release of the beloved 2008 game expansion in a live streaming event, which also featured a new expansion for the modern version of WoW - Dragonflight.
No specific release date, other than sometime in 2022, was given for Wrath of the Lich King Classic. The number of WoW subscribers peaked during Wrath of the Lich King in 2009, so it's not surprising that Blizzard would want to bring back the popular expansion after the successful re-release of the original version of WoW in 2019 and the first expansion, The Burning Crusade, in 2021.
Since Burning Crusade Classic is currently coming to the end of its content cycle and the new Dragonflight expansion probably won't come out until 2023, the release of Wrath of the Lich King Classic later this year to fill the gap makes sense.
Wrath of the Lich King introduced a number of features and moments to Blizzard's MMORPG that later became iconic in the game, including the continent of Northrend and its fan-favorite Grizzly Hills area, the final confrontation with Arthas in the Icecrown Citadel, in-game achievements, the inscription profession, the Death Knight hero class and more.
While the original Wrath of the Lich King required players to have a level 55 character on their account before creating a Death Knight, first-time players joining WoW Classic will not need to create a Death Knight on day one.One key feature added at the end of the original Wrath of the Lich King content cycle, which will not be included in the Classic re-release, is the Dungeon Finder tool, an automated system that collected players for dungeons based on their role.
As part of the announcement, Blizzard confirmed that the Dungeon Finder tool will not be included in Wrath of the Lich King Classic.
The re-release of the expansion will also include new player customization options missing from the original version, which players will be able to purchase in-game for gold.
Blizzard will also offer a character level upgrade to 70 for players who want to have time to master the Northrend after the expansion's release. As for WoW: Dragonflight, the game's newest expansion will be released \"when ready.\" It will feature a new playable dragon race (which is also a new class) and a new region in the form of Dragon Islands, as well as redesigns to existing systems such as talents, professions and the game's user interface.

Spellcraft - New Strategy from Blizzard and ArenaNet Veterans

Spellcraft - New Strategy from Blizzard and ArenaNet Veterans

Spellcraft - New Strategy from Blizzard and ArenaNet Veterans

Spellcraft is a strategy game from a small studio founded by longtime Blizzard programmer (and ArenaNet co-founder) Patrick Wyatt.Despite the announcement today, the developers of Spellcraft are keeping details of their new game a secret for now.
What is known is that it's some fusion of the trendy strategy games of recent years.
It's not exactly Hearthstone or Teamfight Tactics, but expect there to be elements of card games and auto-battlers.
For now, it's a 1-on-1 PvP game, and it will be free to play (but not pay-to-win or participate in any NFT nonsense, the developers stressed).
Small coasters under each character hint at the aesthetic of tabletop heroes as figurines.Wyatt and studio co-founder Jamie Winsor have worked on a ton of RPGs and strategy games in between, including Warcraft and StarCraft (hence the name), Diablo, League of Legends and Guild Wars 2.
A small team began working on Spellcraft in 2020, and has been regularly tested by a small number of players since the beginning.
With today's announcement, the developers of One More Game are getting ready to give more people a taste of Spellcraft.Registration for alpha testing begins today and will begin May 3.
